Adopt a Siberian Husky / Mixed (short coat)

Becket is a 2 year old male Husky mix with an incredible glossy coat and dreamy brown eyes. 

 He was picked up as a stray in Oakland with his friend and NorSled alum Ava. Beck was micro-chipped but his owner chose not to pick him up from the shelter so NorSled swooped in. 

Becket was mistreated in the past so he needs a quiet, patient, adult only home to build his confidence and teach him to trust again. He is currently in a foster home with 4 other large dogs (2 males/2 females) and is doing really well. He gets along fine with his foster brothers and sisters but needs patience and understanding meeting new dogs . . . one at a time. He was probably not taken out of his previous home much so he's not accustomed to multiple dogs coming towards him/interacting at one time - it's scary! He would do best with an adopter who liked to walk, run or hike for exercise rather than the dog park scene. Becket is learning leash manners but "gives 5" for treats and is food motivated so he's easy to train. He wants to please! Like many Northern dogs and per our adoption requirements, Becket has a very high prey drive so cannot safely be around small dogs or other small animals. 

 He LOVES going on adventures (he just needs to hear those keys in your hands!) but can be a bit nervous in new situations (aren't we all?) - again, just patience and understanding and sometimes taking things slow is all this guy needs. 

Becket loves his person and connects very quickly. If he had to choose dogs or people, he would definitely choose a kind person rather than any dog friend. He would love to hang with you on the couch to watch a movie and is quick to give you kisses first thing in the am. He patiently waits at the front door for his person to return and gets up to follow you when you get up. This guy has a lot of love to give! He can be very playful and loves a good game of chase or peek a boo.
